lopsided puck

I've been using Tabac in the Tabac bowl it came in for a while. I was clearly favoring one side when I loaded my brush, as the top of the puck is at a pretty signifcant angle. When I try to get the entire puck wet and use the high end of the slant, the problem just gets worse.

Has anyone else experienced something like this? Is it possible to just pop the puck out of the bowl, grate it up, and then just tamp it down and use it or do I need to wait a while before using the soap once it's grated?

Thanks.

If you let the puck dry somewhat first, it can be grated. Naturally, if the puck is too moist, it will make a gooey mess.

Thanks. I have other options for tomorrow morning and no compelling reason to shave this weekend.

You can just cut the high point off with a knife and put it on the bottom of the bowl and drop the puck on top of the bits. Its just soap.:thumbup1:

I rotate the bowl when loading the brush so that I'm not favoring one side of the puck.

You could just use the bowl the other way around until the puck is even again, I guess.

Tabac is actually quite soft, you'd be surprised how mold-able it is with some decent thumb pressure.

OK, I feel really dumb for not even trying that solution. It worked like a charm. Thanks for the suggestion.

Same thing happened to me, I just ran the backside of an old butter knife around inside the bowl and leveled it off and threw it on top and shmushed it. Voila. i tried adjusting with the brush during normal usage but it never worked out.

Hey! That sounds like a new derogatory shaving term that we can start using. I think you just thought up another way to tease somebody that made a mistake, or is misguided or worse. Example: Someone soaks their, great condition, Gillette Slim adjustible in Barbasol for several weeks and all the paint in the markings comes off. One could say, "You lopsided puck!" I think that works. What do you think? Not meaning to offend anyone, it just sounded funny to me. Believe me when I say I've been there done that.

I guess if you really have a lopsided puck you could just rotate your bowl/container or rotate the puck in the mug to the other side and use it until the puck is even.

Just think how much of a conversation you started by your lopsided puck!

I have an older brother. Growing up would have been heaven if the worst thing he ever called me was a lopsided puck. :001_smile
