Looking into getting a open comb razor

I have never bought a new razor, I always go the vintage route. As far as open combs go I have a Gillette new with the bar handle that I love. Now I want to get my first new razor and want opinions on what to get. I like razors on the aggressive side and I don't know what to get. I know I want a open comb and that is about it. Maybe the Fatip Grade. IDK.

I am hunting all the time to find a New OC long and one auction ends soon. I have read that it is quite close to fatip, but don't know sure because I have only fatip.
Muhle R41 is my aggressivest, parker's (91R/45/48) and fatip are second for aggressiveness and equal. Merkur progress might be one to think about too. I will try my progress tomorrow for first time, so can't comment on it yet.

You have so many choices; Old Type, Single Ring, New Long Comb, OC Aristocrats are my favourites, but can be a tad expensive.
The FaTip, Tradere, Joris are also good modern ones. The FaTip is definitely the least expensive to try. Good luck.

I was lucky enough to pick up a NEW long comb in OK shape with original case and razor box for $10 at a local antique store. Of course since I think they have started upping their prices, but I had to walk with that one. I have spent some time polishing it up and its a heck of a razor. I just prefer SuperSpeeds more, but the OC is a nice one to have around.

Really, I need my own bathroom for all my shaving stuff...

If you are looking to buy new FaTip is hard to beat. If you don't mind spending more money Joris razors are really nice. Same head as the FaTip but with a better finish and really cool choices in handles.
