Looking for recommendation: Simpsons Commodore X3 vs Muhle silvertip

Hello forum! :001_smile

After having used a relatively cheap badger brush for some month now i decided to buy myself a better one.
Since i do not really have experience with shaving brushes i read a lot of posts (the field seems to be endless)
and am now undecided between the Simpsons Commodore X3 and the Muhle silvertip (L) brushes.

I would be happy to get any recommendations, experiences or suggestions on which brush to buy. :biggrin1:

Thanks,
DiNaN

I have a Muhle silvertip, its very soft and luxurious, it feels floppy compared to my TGN 2 band but its definately a tad softer, hope this helps :)

I also love the handle on it, very pleasant on the eye and comfortable to hold.

I find Mühle silvertip too floppy but it is very pleasant to use. On the other hand, the Commodore 3 can be used for bowl and facelathering and is also soft-tipped while retaining enough backbone.
If you are upgrading from a cheap badger and want to treat yourself to a quality brush, I would lean towards the Simpson. It is more "substancial", so to speak, and will be a great change from your current gear.

Big boobs or practical, dependable girl next door? Both can be fun!

Do you bowl or face lather? Soaps or creams?

Of the two I would go with the Simpson. I have a Muhle knot I custom set at a low loft and its a nice brush. However at the stock loft, I find them to be way to floppy to for my tastes. As for the Simpson, its a nice middle of the road brush, good for most gear and techniques.

I'm still trying out what's the best for me. But most of the times (if i have enough time) i use a bowl.
Sometimes i use cream but mostly soaps.

If I'm understanding right, the Simpson is a more versatile brush? At the moment im tending to buy the X3.

And thanks to all the replies so far! :001_smile

I got 2 mühle silvertips and im waiting for an commodore x2. I really like the mühle, but cant wait to get the simpson. The logical thing to do is buying both i think. you will eventually..

The difference to my old brush is so astonishing ... I only now know whats meant by "backbone" of a brush.
I don't even want to use my beginners brush anymore.
Now I only need a second nice (but not so expensive) brush to rotate with. :biggrin1:
