lathe pattern for brush handle

Let's say I have a brush handle that I really like and want to share. How do you go about getting a 'pattern' sample brush handle made? Is this something that an experienced turner can do? Would it be smart to have the pattern made of something besides wood? I will want the handles made of different material, not wood.

We have many experienced turners who are vendors here. Email a pic of the brush and its dimensions to one of these fine gentlemen and ask him to make it for you in whatever material the both of you agree on. I don't want to speak for any of our vendors but I have seen examples of brushes in acrylic, delrin, pottery, faux ivory, etc. At the risk of leaving great craftsman out, Rudy Vey, the guy who works with whippeddog at his website, king1976, bobfarvour, Rod Neep and probably many others all have shown some very nice custom work here. Good luck. I know what it's like having a favorite brush design.
