Latest Acquisitions

Well....I have not been on here all that long and I have been infected by the acquisition bug.

Afer merrily DE shaving for a few years with the same setup, I join this place and you all have TORTURED me :001_tongu j/k.

In the past couple of weeks I have purchased 3 Gillette razors at a local antique show, then it was onto trying new shave creams (TBS Macca Root, J.M. Fraser, and another TBS Macca Root (good deal). Next it was picking up a Lady Gillette for my wife and then I just had to pickup a tub of Proraso soap, hopefully a tub of MWF will be coming for my birthday next week. Now I am on the hunt for a pewter shave mug, preferrably an antique so it may take a while. Anyways, while I was out for lunch today I went to an antique dealer/consignment store. While looking around I found a couple of additional Gillette razors (Fatboy, I believe and another one that I do not know what it is but it has Made in England on the back) and an Old Spice shave mug. HELP ME!

Thanks everyone, I'll post pics later on.

Just having fun and trying to get a nice kit that I like. The razors have been all reasonably priced. I am also considering getting two of my nephews into DE shaving.

Here are a few pics of the pickups from today.

Not sure what the razors are and if there is anything special about the OS shave mug...

The non-TTO reads "Made in England" on the inside of the blade tray if that makes a difference.

Can anyone assist in identifying these for me?

I believe that the first one is a Fat Boy with a date code of F1 - 1st qtr 1960

The second is a little more difficult. I believe that it is a tech. I have been looking around and not seeing a knurl pattern such as this. It is labelled as being Made in England with a date code of N1.

From the chart that was posted in the following link it looks as though it could be from Q1 of 1943 or from Q1 1968.

You guys are good.

Thanks for the quick responses and PMs. I took a look at the MR-RAZOR site and I haven't come across it yet but I haven't given up.

Thanks!
