Last Gillette DE razor made for U.S. market?

Always curious if anyone might know when Gillette stopped producing
a DE razor to be sold in the U.S., and what model it was?
I just saw a black handle adjustable like mine (from 1973)
from 1985. When I started shaving in 1977 (with my Dad's Trac II),
I had just assumed DE's were obsolete.

Thanks

I had a '86 LBH Superadjustable for a while, traded it away before I realized what I had. I suspect that there were only a very limited number of those produced. I've never seen or heard of any domestic Gillettes beyond 1986, and really anything in an '83 or beyond would be hard to come by.

Thank sucks I was kinda hoping to find a birth-year razor... 1986. Oh well.

No, wait, 1986 was the last year, as BroJohn implied. See the dating chart in the wiki. And they were made outside of the US after that. I've got a British made 1991 G1000.

Mind you, I don't know how many 1986 models are actually out there. The final year of US production might have special value for collectors, leading to hoarding, or maybe production was limited to part of the year. Still, you can hope, or you can look for a non-US model.

"stopped producing
a DE razor to be sold in the U.S"

Gillette "produced" DE razors in other countries that were sold in the US until the late 1990s. They were TTOs like the G1000 and/or G2000 sold in the rest of the world. They came in the red/black/white Gillette packaging that the bad US market Super Stainless (made in Russia) came in. They were in Canada a couple of years later than the US (2000-2001). The "wayback machine" in archive.org shows online pharmacies in the US selling these DE razors in 1998-99......
