Lasik

Well, after years of discussing it, and several optometrists telling my I should be a good candidate, my lovely wife has scheduled me for a consultation this Friday. Although a little aprehensive about the process of lasik, I'm very much looking forward to the possibility of of life without glasses!

Nice to hear the positive experiences. I'm near-sighted with astigmatism, and have been for decades. I'm ready for a change! I'll post back when I find out if I'm going to go ahead with it.

My older brother and his wife both have had it. I have near 20/20 vision in both eyes, and they can both see and read things that I can't. I think you're going to be very happy.

I had LASIK two years ago (as did my wife). Positive experience all around, although I was told that my corneal thickness barely made me a candidate (too thin). Wait 'til you get to open your eyes for the first time after the surgery...the results will astound you.

Wife had it done 5 years ago, best decision she ever made. Wasn't cheap, took the most expensive package (didn't want to take any chances on her eyes).

I had PRK a few years ago. Although it took 2-3 months for my night vision to get back to 100%, I am so glad I did it.

I had Lasik over 12 years ago and I regret not having it even earlier when my friend was urging me to have it at the same time he did. I was near-sighted with astigmatism.

I had a friend do it years ago, maybe early 2000's. He loves it. I thought about it but don't have any issues with the contacts. If I did I would give it a shot.

Underwent Lasik with intralase method on Friday, January 13th (lucky day!), 2012. I went from being near-sighted with severe astigmatism to 20/20 vision.

This was the best money that I have ever spent on myself.

So long as your eyes aren't continually deteriorating it should be fine. An older friend of mine is back to wearing glasses 5 years after getting it. Good luck with the consultation!

Had mine done about 13 years ago with not a single regret. The doc said it doesn't last forever and I it hasn't, I use reading glasses now. The procedure was a piece of cake, dang near instant results - enjoy.

There was a time I considered undergoing a laser surgery to improve my eyesight, but I never did it because I've heard that your vision has to be stable in order to do the surgery, and my vision was never stable, the numbers in my glasses just keep gradually going up as the time passes. Another reason is that I have a problem with eye muscles, which makes my eyes more sensitive to problems with vision and to the differences in vision between the two eyes. I really hate wearing glasses, I've been wearing them for more than 10 years and still feel awkward, but I don't think I suit for laser sight improvement surgery. :/
