La Toja Scent?

Think the question I asked earlier in another post got "buried." What is the scent of the La Toja shave stick, please?

Find a stick of Dove Men+Care "Clean Comfort" antiperspirant in the store. That's 90% the scent of the La Toja stick.

John, the scent of La Toja stick can be described as light, mild, soapy and unique. It seems that you can truly smell the mineral salts it contains. I find no better words, but the soap for both scent and performance is top notch IMHO.

Yeah, it's like Dove Clean Comfort but "saltier," if that makes any sense.

Better scent than Valobra? Am considering that one too! I will see if I can't find some Dove and take a sniff. Thank you, gentlemen!

Valobra is.....as close to unscented as you can get. It literally smells like an unscented talcum powder. La Toja is more pleasant if you're going for scent. Both, however, are AWESOME soaps.

I think La Toja stick smells like death. I don't like the smell, but that's not why I describe it that way. It smells like old dirt that hasn't seen life in a long time. It smells like a dead, gray thing, if you can imagine that. I can smell the salt, and that's not bad, but the rest of the scent is horrific to my nose.

I can't comment on Valobra, I haven't tried it. But I found the scent of the La Toja stick agreed with me. I would agree with the other replies... soapy in a good way with kind of a saltiness to it.

There is a musky aspect to the scent, no?

Count me in as another ardent fan of both the scent and performance of La Toja. My advice to OP: get a stick (they're not expensive anywhere, and they're crazy cheap at Italian Barber). I'd be very surprised if you regret it.

It has a very unique scent due to the mineral salts in it. As for Valobra, it smells like almond and playdough. :scared:

La Toja has a scent of mineral salts that is uniquely its own. You can order a stick for $4.99 at the Italian Barber web site. Just give it a try and judge for yourself.

Clean, Smokey, Salty.

When I first started this hobby several years ago, I purchased one as part of a lot. I opened it up, gave it one sniff and sold it immediately. I thought it was rotted and smelled disgusting. How young and naive I was.

Fast forward a few years, and not only do I love the scent, but it is also one of the best performing soaps I've ever used.

I had a similar reaction to many of the guys here to the scent when I first got it. I agree it smelled mustily unpleasant, reminded me of the smell of an old vintage Gillette razor case or antique store. The scent has grown on me and I enjoy using it now, probably because the scent has mellowed a lot and now smells mostly soapy. Has always performed great though

Clean, smokey, salty, soapy. That is what I think of when I try to describe it. Doesn't do it justice.

This is one scent that took a bit to grow on me, but is currently one of my favorites, second to the RazoRock Zi' Peppino Green Tobacco.

Edit: Now craving this one. Will be shaving with it tomorrow morning. There will be extra lather. I will use it anyway.
