Just tried Arlington

After reading a lot about it, I just tried a soap sample of DR Harris Arlington, and was blown away. Smells fantastic. Like nothing I've smelled before, but also familiar. Strange that way.

I pressed it into a bowl last night, and could smell it every time I walked by my bathroom. And it lathered like crazy. Also used a slim that came in the mail at the same time. I know I violated a rule when it comes to trying two new things, but the end result was great.

I also have a sample of Marlborough -- can I expect similar results from that?

Same performance, different scent. If you like the Marlborough scent then you more likely will enjoy Tabac as well. Arlington is great, buy some 4711 cologne to go with it. It smells the same IMO.

I had some issues with the Arlington soap, unfortunately. It always gave me an annoying itchy feeling after the shave, at the point that I had to stop using it. A real pity because its scent was fantastic and its lather wonderful. I hope this won't happen again with the new Windsor soap which I should get soon.

Marlborough is Cedar. Cedar with Stuff. It's good. But very much a cedar scent.

Performance is amazing. It's unfortunate it's irritating for you Marco. I had the same problem with La Toja stick.

Yes. I found these two perform the same. Malborough is one of my favorites. I've also tried the Windsor cream and it's another fantastic scent. I will getting the soap.

I buy it locally at flea markets - CAD 30 for 400 ml. Lat time I got 800 ml for CAD 40. It's also available at the malls around Toronto. Check the perfume stores in your area.

Arlington, Marlborough, Windsor, Lavender, Almond......all excellent performers. Only the scent is your decision!

Are we talking about the 4711 aftershave or cologne being a match?

I really need to get around to trying a Harris soap. I just got a sample of the Windsor aftershave and it smells wonderfully

I haven't tried the AS, just the cologne but I believe the scent is the same.

Arlington, Marlborough and Windsor all smell remarkably similar (if not the same) across their lines from EdT/Cologne to aftershave splash to cream to soap. I haven't tried any of the balms however so I can't comment on those.

4711 aftershave and cologne smell the same to me and have the same longevity as well - perfumania is the best place for 4711 in the CONUS.

To me, the Marlborough is the connection between Arlington and Windsor. It has some top citrus notes like Arlington. When they dissipate, it smells like Windsor.

I only have Marlborough and Arlington and agree that they are fantastic performers with wonderful scents. I have the AS and Colognes to match and like to layer them from time to time. I find the Marlborough to be a great cool/cold weather scent while the Arlington is great in warmer weather.

I believe Perfumania or Amazon are the best places to get 4711. I think the prices fluctuate, I got mine for $5 with free shipping from one of those sites. It may have even been on Amazon but sold by Perfumania.

I only have the splash myself.
