Just gotta love the Germans

I was out shopping with my wife this morning and whilst she pushed the trolley around the supermarket, I dashed across the road and into the local Müller Apotheke. Great stuff!

Palmolive sticks are made in Belgium.

Nice catch ... I've never tried Speick, but heard good stories about that stick!

Nice stash David! I will need to have a second look at the Tabac soap eventually as I did not like my first experience with it (scent issue).

Actually the sticks are made in Germany but the cream comes from Belgium.

Are you sure? Colgate-Palmolive is based in Herstal, which is in Belgium.

Edit: I stand corrected indeed ... "Made in Germany" printed on the package. I thought all shaving soaps and cremes were made in the Herstal plant.

I had a shave with Balea Sensitive cream this morning. Another extremely affordable cream with a great performance (if you don't object to the scent).

Balea is the DM house brand. I don't know if it is sold outside Germany.

My college-age son--who despite growing up in Florida has learned to speak German--has obtained a scholarship to spend the upcoming academic year at a German university. I already have plenty of Tabac, Dr. Dittmar, Klar Kabinett (apparently now discontinued), and Speick, Palmolive, and Wilkinson-Sword sticks. I'll nonetheless find an excuse to purchase them "on site." And then, I may need to make a Haslinger purchase in Vienna, various purchases in northern Italy, other purchases in . . .
