I just looked up a inflation calculator. $5.00 in 1927 was equal to roughly $65.00 today.
$75.00 in 1927 = roughly $973.00 today.

Although that is what it is based on inflation number that was actually quite a bit more money. For example a Ford Model A roadster in '29 would have only cost you $385 so $75 was quite a chunk of change by comparison. However Im not sure my '31 roadster out performs a new Ford Roadster like my '31 Gillette out performs a new Gillette Mach5.
