John Clarke & Son ?

I cant find much info, but I stumbled upon a pair in a wood box for AUD$125 (USD $114)

THe condition was VERY good, no pitting etc, but would need to be honed. Any good whadda ya reckon, worth the investment?

Cheers

Jase - they are very good makers, having produced fine cutlery, pocket and Bowie knifes as well as razors. Situated in Harvest Lane, Sheffield, they were exhibitors at the British Industries Fair of 1922. They acquired the "I cut my way" mark and also made William Rodgers knives (sold as John Clarke Incorporating william Rodgers) in the 1870s. They ceased production in the 1980s ('83?).

Neil

My first straight was a John Clarke & Son 6/8 with very little wear, and a nice little shaver it was. I've since given it away to a newbie, who promptly disappeared :-( The matched pair you found may be a good buy, but it really depends on the condition.

THanks for the info Fellas

I don't have any pics as they are in an antique shop. They looked in very good condition with no pitting. I may buy them tomorrow and will then take some pics.
