Jack Daniels as an aftershave?

Nothing wrong with using ANY whiskey as an aftershave. But it's all in the application.

I find a single malt scotch is best (just a modest 12 year Glenlivet most days), and should definitely be supplied inside out.

And actually there is good evidence that sugar promotes healing, so says a wound care specialist friend of mine.

I've heard of honey being very good for certain types of wounds (burns especially) and having been used in many countries over the centuries, but modern refined sugar is nasty stuff - I can't imagine what's in it that would be good for wounds. How much sugar is left after fermentation anyway?

Well, if you don't mind smelling a little alcoholic, should work as a splash. Although, no skin conditioning. And I'm not sure how tannins treat your face. I guess they are astringent....

Pick up a bottle of Hennigans Scotch then. It's the no smell, no tell, scotch.

Well the title pretty much says it. I've heard a few members joke about using Jack Daniels as an aftershave and it got me wondering, why not? So I'm wondering if any one else has tried it in a pinch or has it in their rotation.

I was perusing the forums when suddenly I recalled that my father--back when he was a heavy beer drinker--on occasion splashed scotch on his face after shaving.

So I did a search, and found your topic.

I don't know if he did it on a regular basis. My parents were divorced and I lived with my mother, so I only saw him every couple of months when I visited NYC. He might have done it to mess with my mind. Like the time when he tried to fix me up with a couple hookers on Broadway. I was 12.

Well, I guess neither is too crazy....I've seen winos drink Aqua Velva, so why not?

Darn, Aqua Velva tastes good too... and, all this time have been just using it for an AS. Guess I was really not thinking out of the box... or was that thinking out of the bottle.
