Well having used Trumpers and Taylors creams for so long I decided to order a bowl of Tabac Soap just to see if it really is "all that".

I dont think Im setting myself up per se, just wanting to try something different (i.e. soap instead of cream) and figured that Tabac seemed like a good place to start

I just realized I misread your post. For some reason I read Taylors/Trumpers soaps. Its great soap, bonus if you like the scent or love it like I do.

It's a GREAT place to start! One of my favorite soaps. Easy to lather. Provides an excellent shaving base.

The one sticky point will be the scent. Not everyone's cup-o-tea...

Agreed. The scent took me a few weeks. Now I can't wait for that smell. It really IS that good.

Somewhat true. Tabac is darn good. And I really like the smell. But to me, the efficacy is about par with lanolin based creams.

This is true but I would add that if one doesn't like the scent initially, let it sit open for a couple of months and go back to it. The scent really mellows out and is just brilliant after that!

I bought a puck 6 months ago, used it for a week and sold it. I recently bought a puck from a friend who had a new puck in the open for a couple of months, I bought it and used it and boy is it an awesome scent!

In future, im going to buy tabac refills and keep them in the open for atleast 2 months before using them.
