What's new

I've got the Fatboy blues

All right, please forgive me for this post, but I've got this silly tune stuck in my head and it needs to be exorcised. Anyway, I pulled out an old Fatboy that I hadn't used in quite some time and was thinking how well built it is. It's amazing that it still shaves so well after all these years....... That's when this popped into my head and won't leave:

Still Shaves Me After All These Years
(sung to the tune: Still Crazy After All These Years by Paul Simon)

I met my old Fatboy in the bath last night
He seemed so glad to see me, I just smiled
And we talked about some old shaves and lathered up some cheer
Still shaves me after all these years
Oh, still shaves me after all these years....

For the younger members who may not know this song (or Paul Simon for that matter), just Google it (him).

Thanks for indulging my whimsy. Please light a few candles for me ;-)

Don't stop now! You're on a roll!

All the way back to his days with Garfunkel, but then, I am that old, and then some. Personally, as much as I appreciate the whimsy, I confess to having had one single shave using a Gillette Adjustable 195. I was at my brother-in-law's house when everyone decided we were going out somewhere special, and I had only electric shaved -- and that early in the morning.

I borrowed his razor, and found its stubby little handle uncomfortable to grip with my long fingered hands, far more accustomed to a Gillette Slim Adjustable's slightly longer handle. The older type had come on the market while I was using Schick Injectors, and disappeared from the retail channel before I started using my Slim Adjustables.

Long and lean and chrome and lovely
the Slim from Ipanema goes shaving
and with each pass my whiskers simply go "ahhhhh"

Old Prohaska

PS--Does that means BBS=a Brazilian?
