Italian safety razor companies

I think this could've just been sent as a private message to Marco . . . but I thought others might benefit from the knowledge - so I posted it here.

What are/were the famous Italian safety razor companies? And, are any still being manufactured? If so, any ideas on where to procure myself a little slice(r) of Italia?

Grazie.

I started compiling a list of old companies in another thread. I got to I and quit. It's a safe bet that most are out of business.

Thanks for the incomplete list. It's sad to see that most of these are no longer with us.

Thanks to your list, I now have a few names to search for within eBay.

These are either brand names or manufacturers, or both. Some of the same already listed, plus some different ones.

Cheers for that.

Anyone care to describe the experience of using a Fatip OC?

It is an open comb with a huge blade gap. It provides very close shaves with minimal passes but in order to prevent blood loss it sure helps to stay focussed during the shave. It is also sold as the Mühles R41 (nickel plated) and R89 (chrome plated) before the end of 2008. The current Mühles with the same product number are totally different btw.

Since it has such a large blade gap it is aggressive by nature and it really helps to use stiffer blades; the more flexible ones can start to 'vibrate' during the shave which certainly does not help to control your shave.

Edit; the beautiful Joris OC is using the same head.
