Is this a old (1800's) French wedge type razor?

Hello all,

I bought a box of old shaving supplies and this one was in it. It appears to be a French true or near wedge razor. But the tail is shorter than my other razors. Could it be that this is a older type? And does anybody know the brand?

The markings are:
BOURGADE - TARRY
TH. ERS FRANCE

On the other side:
ENDLESS CUTTING

Looks like it, a Thiers, France

Hi Heljen,

loads of knife and razor makers came out of Thiers. Don't know if this is a common maker - haven't seen it myself before. Would think it'll take a nice edge, maybe a couple of layers of tape will help.
The shorter tail may well indicate and older razor but no idea when. As far as collectibility I guess it's not a hugely collectible straight, not a TI for instance, so if I were you I'd hone and use it.
