Is this a joke??

In fact the seller is taking advantage of the higher prices on wet shaving items. Especially the 195 Fatboys are somewhat sought after and lucky is the one who got one two years ago when they were already rare.

Long story short: No, it is no joke but I can't/won't comment on the specific price tag.

There is a slim adjustable on ebay with a Buy It Now price of $995... it appears unique in that the adjuster is on bottom of the handle... is this some rare razor or is it a typo?

It seems legit as the seller has 100% positive feedback and several thousand transactions.

Anybody care to weigh in on this?

It's not a Slim. That's a very rare bottom adjustable Fat Boy (195) prototype only made for a short time. Outrageous price? Certainly for me, but it's not uncommon to see it go north of $500 when they pop up.

Ahh, very interesting. I noticed that the other auctions the seller has seem to be in extremely good condition, so I don't question that the items are of high quality and rarity, but just couldn't figure out what would make a razor go for so much.

yes indeed. As much as ebay makes the items available, the days of those items being bargains seem to be history. I guess it's always the buyer's decision as to what an item is worth. What are you willing to pay?

:lol:For me, I have no real background to judge the value of something like that... i am just suffering from a severe case of RAD!

+1

Yeah, that's a 195. A bit pricey for one, maybe, but they command a pretty high price to begin with due to their rarity.

Looks like he changed his User ID...wasn't it PTSBR not too long ago? Anyway, that same razor has been up for sale at different times for over the past year and still has not sold! Maybe the price is too high, duh!!!

A thing of rarity is worth as much as someone who values that rarity, is prepared to pay for it.

If the seller has been changing IDs and bouncing that thing around, he's confusing rarity with desirability; they're not neccesarily the same thing.

This is all Ebay's fault.:frown: A two dollar Gem would more than likely shave better.:001_smile Rare,Shmare!!!Not on my list of must have's,that's for sure.:rolleyes:

The joke is that the seller has probably payed more in listing fees than he will ever recoup selling this razor. It has been on there for more than a year.
