Is there an accurate and consistent way...

to measure the safety bar gap on a Gillette? I think there is a slight variation on my '63 adjustable and I'd prefer something a bit more "scientific" than simply eyeballing it. Thanks.

You can use a spark plug gap tool. The kind that have several different gappers that switch out like a pocketknife. They look like this:
