Is my Wolfman too mild?

I believe they go up to 1.55, so 1.05 could certainly be too mild for you. But for some faces that would be perfect, and I don't think you'd have any trouble selling it.

Cool and slimy
I don't understand.
The blade isn't sticking out much under the cap but the gaps of the WR2 head are compared to other razors huge. The 1.55 gap for instance.

So the "mild" end for this head starts at 0.95-1.05, 1.25-1.35 would be medium and 1.55 aggressive.

The blade is still well supported and exposure rather low, but the huge gap allows you to go very steep when shaving.

You can try riding the bar hard, maybe it is then efficient enough and you don't need to get one with a higher gap.

But with the 1.05 it is very likely that you got a mild head.

I started with the WR2 1.05SB. I can get BBS with this no problem. I then ordered a 1.15, which is more efficient by a bit. I then ordered a 1.25, which is even more efficient. I stopped increasing the gap at 1.25 as I can get BBS with all of them and saw no point in gap chasing any more. I find the 1.05 the most comfortable of the 3 but I like using all of them in rotation.

I shaved a fortune
That’s why the B&B mantra is YMMV. I get 12 hour relaxing, smooth, comfortable yet close shaves with my WR2 0.95 bronze. But I get similar shaves with my Timeless hybrid 0.68OC (SS cap and Ti base plate).

For me, I’d say the Wolfman is a bit more efficient than the Timeless, but just a smidgen. I do use Perma-Sharp blades, if that makes a difference.

I started with a 1.15. It was super smooth, yet very efficient. Thought I could do better. Went to a 1.25. Thought I could do better. Went to a 1.55. Discovered I actually got,it right the first time. The 1.15 was the best of the bunch for me. It has the best ratio of smooth versus efficient.

I do shave the Wolf super steep. I ride the bar big time. And I also use a Perma Sharp in the Wolf for best results.

+1! That’s for the WR2. The WR1 has a bit more ‘blade feel’ IME and needs a smaller gap.

My suggestion would be to try a few other blades, especially Kai which is a wee bit wider.

I use a .74 WR1 and it's plenty aggressive for me, a great shaver. I don't have any experience with the WR2... never tried one. I don't get how aggressiveness can vary so from WR1 to WR2...must be a significant difference in head geometry.

I have a WR2 in the 1.05 gap and I like it. For my beard it is as efficient as my Timeless. 95 SB, and just a bit smoother. It's pretty much a Goldilocks razor. If it is brand new, maybe give a few more shaves before selling it.
