Is it worth buying a Merkur 39C if I already own a 37C

Hello everyone

I've been using the 37C slant for a year now and it's basically the only one I use now.

I haven't bought a new shaving product except blades aand cream since I got my 37C last July and was thinking of buying a new razor. I don't collect razors, but I like to occasionally get new things to mix it up.

I know the 37c and 39C have the same head, but does the handle make the head more or less efficient or even worth buying a new one.

I'm also open to other suggestions instead.

Thanks

The 39C is a bit more aggressive due to the added weight of the handle (at least to me). If you're looking for someone to tell you NOT to purchase another razor I think you're in the wrong place hehe :001_tongu. In all seriousness, give it a shot. If you don't like it, I'm sure you could recoup all your money by selling it.

Thank you for the fast response

I have already decided I want to buy a new razor. It's just a question of which one. I just didn't know if it was worth buying the same razor with a longer handle or getting something completely different.

The R41 was also one I was looking at, but it seems to has a lot of negative reviews on other sites.

I've used a Merkur 38M for 6 months and recently my Dad gave me the 42C. These razors effectively have the same head (though the 38 is 2 piece, the 42 is 3 piece), but the 38M in the big, heavy barber pole and the 42C is the dainty 1904-style handle. I didn't expect much difference between the two in use, but the smaller handle makes it easier to move around. That's not to say I like the 42C more, but it is a different shave than the 38M, in spite of having the same head.

Don't the open comb, long handled Merkur 25Cs going relatively inexpensively on Ebay at the moment tempt you?
Regards,
Renato

If you wait a few months you may be able to get a tradere slant. Regarding the r41 I have one and I love it. I also loved my 37c and 39c slants. But they are no more. The fatip has been getting a lot of attention lately.

I've never used a slant but I have experience with the 2011 R41 and a FaTip Grande. If you're looking for aggressive shavers, I'd suggest either of these two. The R41 is more aggressive than the FaTip.
