What's new

Is it worth anything?

Yesterday I stopped in at a shop I go by regularly but never seem to have time to visit. I asked the old man if he had any DE razors and he said no. I told him I was also looking for injector razors and he said "I have one of those." He took me to a table where in a box was a new old stock Avon brass handle Trac II. He said he had it for 30 years and never used it, someone gave it to him and he had a razor he liked at the time. The box is a little rough, but you can't tell the razor or blade was ever used. He really seemed like he wanted to sell it and I bought it. I can't find one on the internet, is it worth anything? I don't expect to retire off of it, but I just wondered how bad I was took.

He had several empty avon bottles, but I don't know anything about avon collectibles. I like avon brisk spice and found a bottle at the flea market a while back. It isn't made anymore. I was hoping it would contain some and the woman said she poured out all the contents of her avon bottles before she sold them. :w00t:

mrscottishman- I am not saying Avon is bad, just that it is a four letter word.

Of course it is worth more than you paid . . . a true Scottsman never pays full price!! :001_tt2:

Its top potential would be with a wetshaver who also collects Avon stuff. It's amazing what that little four-letter word can add to the collector value of an otherwise ordinary knick-knack.

I gave $2. He wanted $500.

JPM was looking for a nice Trac II handle just the other day.
A lot of folks who travel and only take carry on love these.
The Trac II was the best of the Multi-Blade systems, it was before the whole pivoting head thing, so if you were to put it on BST I don't think you'd have a problem selling it in short order.
Or you could keep it as a standby for your own travel needs.
