Is Crystal Body Deodorant Stick made of Alum?

I am considering Alum as an aftershave. Walgreens sells Crystal Body Deodorant Stick. The ingredients are Mineral Salt (Potassium Silicate) , Ammonium Aluminum. Is this equivalent to Alum? Thanks.

I say yes and it works well for me. Remeber it doesnt stop you swaeting but it stops the smell. Since I started using it I've hand no irritation at all. No soreness and no smell. YMMV though. One thing is your local health food shop may sell their own brsn a few bucks cheaper. Crystal is a 'named' brand.

Typically, barber's alum is potassium alum, where as most of the deodorant sticks, like Crystal, are ammonium alum. Ammomium stings more than potassium, but both will work as an aftershave.
