This seems pretty dumb, and dangerous to me. I have seen video of an old school Italian barber in Washington D.C. who "cuts" hair with a lit candle. This is apparently an ancient method, that seals the ends of the hair to prevent split ends. Smells horrid I'd imagine.

I don't know Paul -- it is all natural, and you're not required to put caustic substances like sodium tallowate or limonene on your skin.
Of course, in keeping with tradition, I think only wooden kitchen matches are really old school enough to be worth considering.
It's shame you can't put people in jail for being stupid.
