Interesting Astra SP Shipment.

So I finally got my shipment of Astra SPs today in the mail (at work :thumbup1:, haha...) and quickly noticed the package 'looked' different than what was pictured on the site. They shipped from NJ but the have some Arabic printed on them...so, I'm wondering if these are cheaper than the ones P&G makes for the States or what exactly the situation is there...I assume quality and production is all the same, especially since it says "Made In Russia" on the box, perhaps just made for a different region but they're being sold now in the US, which I thought was a bit strange...anyway, here's the pic...any ideas?

Pretty much the only DE production "made for" retail sale in the States are the Wilkinson and Personna packs you see at CVS/Walgreens/Walmart/RiteAid.
Personna Med-Prep and Lab-Blue are as well, but not targeted at the retail segment.
English is a pretty universal language, at least as far as the ability to read the written form, so it is not uncommon to see it in a mix with one or more languages as we have here with what appears to be Turkish, and Arabic characters of a language I can not identify.

Is Astra even a P&G product? Gillette is, and the 7:00 Yellows are Russian, but they definitely are not the same blade.

I have one box that is wrapped in just wax paper and another that has the branded wrapper. Same blade on the inside though.

Cool. Same factory, different blade.

'course there's only what, 4 or 5 companies left that make them from maybe 10 or 12 factories?
P&G/Gillette, American/Personna, Merkur/Dovo, and Wilkinson/Schick ?

Don't forget Dorco in S. Korea. And Lord in Egypt.

I just got some of these in a 5 pack. Single wrap in wax paper instead of double, and less goop holding the wrapper on, which was nice. I could swear my shaves aren't as close as with the previous double wrapped batch but I'm probably just being lazy.
