Hi Folks,
I wanted to do a comparison/contrast between two soaps that I personally think highly of, in case anybody is interested.
Cost
IK is cheaper ($15/100 gram puck vs $26/95 gram puck) but AOS is generally easier to find locally, thus eliminating the shipping cost for some.
Scent
AOS has the edge here, largely as a result of having more options, but this is not the category where either brand really shines. IK has an understated soapy scent that is pretty forgettable. AOS comes in three scents- I have a puck in a fairly muted lavender, but I have heard that the sandalwood is stronger.
Efficiency
I think this is where IK really shines. AOS creates thick, rich lather that provides a smooth and comfortable shave with little effort. IK does the same thing, but with added moisturizing properties that consistently improve the overall condition of my skin. This is a rare trait in my experiences, and something that I prize above other things.
Both great products, but for what it's worth I keep going back to the IK.
