Ink Drop Subscription

Any of ya'll subscribe to the Goulet Ink Drop? Do you do prepaid or ongoing? Is it worth it? How often are inks repeated, or is care taken to prevent this? 60 ink samples for $120 over the course of a year doesn't necessarily sound like a bad idea...

IIRC, they have never repeated an ink. Sooner or later they'll have to as they'll run out of un-dropped inks, but ... it's basically always new. (And I wouldn't expect them to repeat an ink soon after its first appearance ... more likely one of the old-timers, as it were.)

I did the Drop for a few months. I'll do it again, but right now I have a lot of ink to go through ...

I did it for several months and really enjoyed it. And, no, repeats are not a problem -- they are careful about that. I stopped only because I had too many ink samples to work my way through. I might do it again someday, should I run out of inks, which is highly unlikely.

Now half as wise
I did it for 6 months. Great selection and variety. I've been working my way thru it, and will eventually go for another 6 or so.

I did it for 6 months, and like Mark said, I am still working through them. I have liked many, gave some away, and still have quite a few. I will sign up again most likely when I am done with the ones I have.
I did 6 months, prepaid. Just seemed easier to add the six months on as one transaction. They let you know in advance when you are coming to the end in case you want to add more months right away.
They give you 2ml, and I never had a repeat color.

I find that if you get a pen that can be eyedroppered, then you just dump the whole sample in, and you are good to go. (Getting the last bit of ink out of the bottle can be tough otherwise ... the other best way is a syringe and then shoot that right into the converter.)

BTW, Kaweco sport is a great little pen, and more than ample to hold an entire ink drop sample in one go ... just get some silicone grease for the pen threads.

I've thought of this Doc. But I also like to see how each sample writes with my (tiny) collection of pens... ED Preppy, Sheaffer's TD, Estie J.
