Injector issues

Hi all. I got an injector as part of a PIF a while back. I loaded a new blade and had a shave.

After my first WTG, I rinsed off and gave a quick face rub, and it felt like no beard reduction. I re-lathered and tried again, same result.

I have tried four times to get a pass that removes hair, no luck. For perspective's sake, I have used several GEM single edge razors and gotten amazing shaves. I also have no problem getting great shaves with any of my DE's.

Is the blade angle for an injector on the extreme side of shallow/narrow? Is it user error? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

The angle is almost up-down, close to a Straight Razor or Disposable Razor angle, I hate to ask but... can you see the cutting edge of the blade & is it exposed, do the corners of the Blade touch the Blade Stops (nubs)? Photos?

The blades aren't in the dispenser upside down with the sharp sides the wrong way?

Depending on the shaving medium you choose, you can often hear the whiskers being cut. It's not loud the way a SE of the usual type is very loud, but you can hear them being nipped off. I used a non-lathering cream last night that describes using a "dime size" bit of product, spread across your face. You can barely see it any more when it's that thinly applied. But it worked fine, and with that cream (Burt's Bees), I was hearing the blade in my Hydromagic razor.

24 hours later, I'm shaved as well as I would be from using my Norelco five minutes ao.

Do you have a razor with a lever on the underside? If so -up closes off the blade- and down releases the razor to cut. Not the hydromagic lever- but more like a battery release lever. I have this feature on an adjustable and Hoosier Trooper explained to me how to use it.

That would be my guess - they were called "Protector" or something, blade blocks for when in your dopp kit

Man, you guys are good. I do not have a lever on the underside. I do, however, have a major issue with blade angle. I tried again yesterday and went with a must steeper angle, got a terrific shave.

Thanks for the help gentlemen, I hope you all have a good day today.

Glad to hear you got it figured out and had a good shave.
