Injector Blades

I'm thinking of diving into the world of injector shaving. I don't know anything about their blades though. Just wondering what blades everyone uses. I have read that NOS Schick blades are the way to go. What package do they look like because the bay has a couple different ones and none of them label their blades as vintage or NOS.

i found a pack of NOS (early 1980's) blades with my injector at my grandmother's house. They're the ones in the yellow packaging, like these:

I would guess the german-made ones would be as good, if not better than the NOS ones.

I haven't found anything better than the Pellas.
The Pellas shown on their web site look suspiciously like the blade pack shown in the pictures below. Same plastic case for used blades, platinum chrome, and coated. They sell for $3.99 a 15-pack at a Meijer store about a mile down the road from here.

So far I've only done one shave with one in a Lady Eversharp M20 (Hydromagic). The shave went fairly easily and quickly, but not as close as I can get with a Shark, Treet Classic, or Dorco 301 in a Gillette adjustable, Slim or Super.

Have you tried the NOS Schicks or Chinese Schicks?

Mr O --

If you can find Personna74 injector blades, snap them up if possible. They are superb. :w00t:

I just moved over to an injector a little over a month a go. I tried the CVS blades and was very disappointed. Then I tried the Schick injector blades that I ordered from drugstore.com and was very impressed. I am not sure if the Schicks are from Germany or China since the packaging did not say. The money spent on the Schicks is well worth it.

China. I did read it on there somewhere.

+1. The blades from drugstore.com are superb.

That's good information. I'll have to look next time I'm there. If you look closely at the back, you'll see the attribution of "Comfort Coated" to ASR--yet another hint that these are rebranded Personna blades.

I used the Meijers brand during the recent week of injectors. They seem to me identical to the ones from Pella that I picked up a while back, same plastic pack too.

I have only used the Chinese Schicks (3 months) until today. I tried the Pellas out. I found them to be sharper than Schicks but around the same smoothness.
They are pretty similar in performance.

I really want to try out some of the NOS Schicks as I hear they are great blades. I wish that I had more options for blades when it comes to the injectors because they are such great blades.

I have an unopened pack of Personna 74 injector blades that came with a Personna injector razor that I bought for Biffo to send to him in the UK. He generously let me keep them, as he had no interest in old blades (and 'cause he's a righteous dude).

I haven't figured out when I'll break them out to try them though.

I picked up a Schick injector at a antique store last week they had a metal injector marked Eversharp Hydromagic on the case. I wasn't sure of the vintage of these blades so I picked up a pack from Walgreens, tre my face up so I just ordered some Schick's from Amazon. Any input on using these Eversharps? I also seemed to have trouble loading the Walgreen's from the plastic dispenser. Has anyone had this problem?

The plastic Personna dispensers seem to have the key at a bad angle. You can usually finagle the blade in by withdrawing 1/8" - 1/4", allowing the blade to twist a little as it enters. The Hydro-Magic razor should be pretty middle of the road for aggression. The Hydro-Magic feature is the little lever underneath that allow you to unclamp the blade, allowing you to better rinse things out after the shave.
