What's new

Info about this "new" bottle of Wind Drift?

Can anyone help me with the story behind this recently manufactured bottle of Wind Drift? Box is recent, complete with UPC, yet the bottle has "MEM" imprinting on the bottom from the 70s. Made by the mysterious "Classic Editions Fragrances" in Calumet City IL, which also manufactures a recent Timberline re-make; another MEM English Leather fragrance from the 70s. It smells like the Wind Drift I remember from back then. These are available from time to time from the perfume discounters who provide no info.

The Wind Drift I remember from the late 70s/early 80s had the same cork cap, but was a white bottle with a paper label.

Here are some of the iterations of Wind Drift from 1970 to 1980.

According to Basenotes, the fragrance was originally named Villa d'Este and eventually renamed and repackaged as Wind Drift. Some claim that the fragrance lives on today as English Leather Black, but I haven't checked that out yet. I got mine off the bay. I think that it is a recent product; I'd really like to know more about "Classic Editions Fragrances" about which there is absolutely no info online. I posed a similar question about Timberline 2 years ago. Here is that thread:
