What's new

In search of a moisturizing ASB

Here are my conditions:

1) It should contain as many natural ingredients as possible.
2) No menthol (I have GFT Skin food but it contains menthol and hence my skin doesn't agree with it)
3) Should contain shea butter and/or lanolin (I know T&H contains lanolin)

Right now I'm thinking about DR Harris Arlington (I have the soap) or T&H 1805 (I tried the cream and ASB in the sampler). The latter is rather pricey though.

Pre de Provence AS Balm. Contains shea butter, no menthol, aloe vera, allantoin. It has a nice clean scent.... definitely not unscented.... the box describes it as a sage scent. It's about $15 for 75 ml. Very moisturizing, soothing and cleansing. Too me it feels very similar to D.R. Harris Arlington AS milk after it's been on you for a while. Makes your skin very smooth. Not quite as runny as D.R. Harris milk, but not a real heavy thick balm either.

I have extremely dry skin and had been looking for a moisturizing ASB for months. For now I have settled for the following:

- Pre de Provence (really good clean smell, very moisturizing)
- QCS Key lime - burnt my face a bit initially, great now. Very thick has a strong lime scent.
- C&E Nomad - Again, thick and moisturizing.

I cannot say enough good things about Pre de Provence. The sage scent is pretty light and doesn't last very long, it is very rich and moisturizing, and it is not greasy in the least. I've tried lots of balms, Proraso, the new Floid, and all sorts of Nivea and other balms in places like CVS and stuff, and PdP is by far my favorite. I use it all year round.
