What's new

In for something new

Hello :)

Just looking for some frags recommendations.

I currently have and love : Viktor and Rolf SpiceBomb, Luten's MKK, Mugler's A*Men, Guess Seductive for men, ZIPPO fragrance for men.

Basically looking for either something new and different than what I alreay have, but I want something that makes a statement, not by being overpowering, but by being unique, (like a niche fragrance) such as Luten's MKK, which is quite controversed :)

If I'm going for anything new:
  • I'd like to know if there are frags that are very reminiscent of mint
  • Also, ones that would smell like a freshly sharpened graphite HB pencil (something light I assume?) - I know, weird description... :p
  • OR, Something like A*MEN, but less soapy and more leathery.

Heard a lot about Penhaligon's Endymion... What's it comparable to in terms of smell? Is it a light or "heavy" fragrance?

Thanks in advance!

For mint, Frederic Malle Geranium Pour Monsieur, Czech & Speake Oxford & Cambridge

Some reviewers say Serge Lutens Chêne smells like pencil shavings.

Endymion is far superior to A*Men. (Which is not hard, because A*Men is revolting. ) Endymion is probably heavier than average but not overwhelmingly heavy. It's just a tad too sweet for me, but a lot of people like it.

Pencil Shavings:
Lalique White "the smell reminds me of pencil shavings (in a GOOD way)"

Mint:
HEELEY Menthe Fraiche "very natural/organic smelling mint"
Creed Selection Vert "lacks any synthetic spearmint notes; it is more like mint in the field"

Leather: (not like A*men)
Tom Ford Tuscan Leather "extremely clean, like the most luxurious, soft leather sofa, brand new leather attaché, high-end leather belt or wallet from an expensive designer house"
Creed Royal English Leather "more about the tannery (and its ambient smells) than perhaps the leather product"
Knize Ten "floral leather with rubber/tar undertones"

I got a definite "pencil shavings" vibe from Terre De Bois by Miller Harris. It is also very light and stays close to the skin.
