What's new

identification and info please. i love you guys

so, again i bought a pen set that i dont really know much about. i read through parkerpens.net and i didnt see a whole lot on the vacumatic. i didnt see this one exactly at least. there is just so much info on there. i also did a search on ebay but i got things that i think are the same and some go for what seems like a lot of money and others dont.

a lot of the pens i saw on the bay are striped and so is mine but i can see through mine. i can see the mechanics work when i press the filler and i can see and hear what is left of the filler mech. is it worth getting it fixed?

i will let the pictures speak for themselves. i bought it for 50 thinking i did good but now im thinking maybe i paid what its worth.

The Blue Diamond 1st appeared in 1939. It appears the pen is Blue 1st appeared 1940. That type of Plunger appeared 1942. No Jewel on the blind cap 1942. So it is at least 1942.

Brian your turn, also please correct any of my info if need be. I am learning this stuff too.

The photos are wonderful, but terrible at providing clear information needed to help identify the pen. straight on shots, in focus, clearly showing all markings and features. There should be a date code stamped on the pen as well. Length capped and posted will determine model.

Nice looking set, any flex to that nib?

i hadnt thought about length. im at work right now though so i cant give that info. that also means i cant give info on the date code. i dont remember seeing it but that doesnt mean it isnt there. it should be right after the word "vacumatic" right? is there anything else that you would need to see pictures of specifically?

I'm no good on specific model identification but I think that's a very nice Vac set and the $50 price is quite reasonable. Assuming the pen hasn't recently been serviced, you'll still need to factor in the cost for restoring the filling mechanism, or, if you want to do it yourself, the cost for tools, materials, and time.

You pretty much nailed it scott. Vac major, between 42 and 45. The case is circa 1941 to 1945. Plunger signifies after 41. My guess 1945 Major. The number should appear after the vacumatic.

It's a demi sized, not a Major. Clip length and cap band gives it away.
