What's new

I was wondering

I am just watching Force 10 From Navarone and a scene just passed with Harrison Ford's character having a shave (de of course, but not sure of the actual make). It got me to thinking. Considering how relaxing and refreshing most of us find wet shaving (at least I do), do you think that they held a similar feeling for soldiers during the war? One moment of peace and something "normal" during periods of hell?

Would be interesting to hear if this was the case for any vets.

Interesting question. I suspect that "way back when", they didn't know any better (e.g., cartridges didn't exist), so it probably was more chore for them. For us, we know what the modern world looks like, and we (at least me) try to reach back to the true art form. I'm interested to see what answers you get!
