I got my TGN knots today!

Yay! I got a 22mm silvertip and a 24mm boar. The silvertip is very nice, and the boar is super stiff! the boar is stiffer than my VDH, and even more stiffer than my Omega. I splurged on the silvertip for Sunday morning cream only shaves. Nice, relaxing.

I have some blocks of live oak trunk wood that is all over the place, stabilized, been sitting for almost 5 years. I hope the stuff is done moving. I should have it knocked out by tomorrow, putting teak oil on the handle as we speak. Since the wood is stabilized I figger I should be good with teak oil and a healthy coat of wax.

I received my Finest knot and a Pure Badger knot a few weeks ago - and am still really impressed! I honestly didn't know that lather could "pop" up so quickly!!
Just for fun - a Silvertip is definitely in my future.

6 coats of teak oil in, I have not decided how many coats I am gonna do. I am burnishing the oil in with the 0000 steel wool to create a slurry to fill the cracks. Anyhow this is my first rodeo here so who knows. The shape is loosely based on a VDH handle without the grooves. Here it is still chucked up on the lathe. Gotta love awesome wood that's free!
