I found birth year material for scales

Wow!
I stumble upon this book:


I searched on the Internet for the ISBN and found out that the book was published less than 2 months after my birth. The first pages consist of illustrations but the last 2/3 are blank construction papers. I thought this would be a great birth year material for micarta scales!

What do you think about this idea?

What is the best product (available in Canada) to make micarta? Resin? Epoxy?

note that to retain the color, I used elmers glue first...well, just thumb through the thread and see what you think. I really like your idea...I've been wanting to make some scales with pages from a book for a long time. Would be fun to pick up a razor that had the opening lines of The Tale of Two Cities, or something right there on the scales.
