It's slightly possible that you got one with a problem.
It's very possible that you just don't like this razor. Nothing wrong with that. You have three possible solutions: Keep practicing on this razor till you get comfortable with it; set it aside temporarily and use something else for a while; or get rid of it.
The first razor I tried was a Gillette adjustable, and a really good one too. I hated it and traded it away. Other razors just happen to suit me much better.
