What's new

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I prefer the Axe 'sleek' pomade to American Crew

I've had a lot of work meetings recently, and I've been using both products alternatively every day for the last two weeks. I have that sort of "Don Draper" haircut so I do like a little bit of a shine to it. But I'm genuinely shocked to find I prefer the Axe brand. It gives me a better 'sheen' for lack of a better word, holds longer, and more importantly gives my hair a cleaner feel.

And yet, it almost feels shameful. Hmm.

The price helped, but wasn't that big of a difference, as I ordered the American Crew online. It wasn't that much more, but still, yeah, that helps some.

Axe products worked unexpectedly well for me in fact!

Maybe they have more "chemical" ingredients than American Crew products, but the fact is they work really well, and at a very decent price!

Plus, they smell rather good in my opinion.

Why should you be sorry that you found a cheaper product that worked better for you?

Easy. Axe products are kind of douche baggy for lack of a better word, and tend to be associated with the sort of stereotype associated with the Jersey Shore and Ed Hardy shirts.

But in the end, once the product is in your hair, people won't be able to tell it's AXE. The smell of their products fades quickly. So, unless you use A LOT, and the smell is overwhelming, I don't think people on the street will differentiate between, for example : Axe "Whatever" product from, let's say, American Crew "Forming Cream".

I haven't tried american crew but I have tried the suave version of it. I agree with nycalling I like axe a lot better.
