I finally convinced him to try something different (since I already have one). Giving it to him as a personal gift and instructing him (as I was) to put it in a mug of water in the refrigerator overnight in order to split the bristle tips.

I hope that it works for him as week as his beloved badger brush.

Doug and I have known each other since 1991. (31 years is a long friendship these days). I convinced him to begin using a straight razor many years ago. Today, he goes back and forth between a straight and a safety razor.

Believe it or not, Doug actually taught a female tonsorial to use a straight razor. (They don't teach that in Barber/Tonsorial Colleges these days).
