Hudson Baby Bourbon

I decided to treat myself, due to the price, to a bottle of Hudson Baby Bourbon. I had heard and read about it last Christmas but never got a chance to be in the neighborhood of the liquor store that advertised it. Well I was yesterday so I stopped in to check it out and my wife talked me into buying it.
Couldn't wait to try it out but it took a bit of work to get the wax off the cap/cork. Noticed a little stronger aroma from my go-to bourbon, Woodford Reserve. First sip also a little stronger. Immediate burn dies quickly on the palate though and then a sweetness comes through which I think may be from the corn. I also got a big taste of carmel. All in all a pleasant bourbon and I am glad I made the purchase. Curious if anyone else has tried this and what you thought? Haven't tried it. I may be just a little biased here, but I wouldn't buy a "scotch" from Italy and I sure won't buy a "bourbon" that doesn't come from Kentucky. Then again I'm the same guy that get's ticked off that Illinois is considered the "land of Lincoln" when the guy was born 3 miles from my house :001_tongu

I completely get that. One of these days I have to find the time to do the "bourbon trail" in your fair state. Like most people I will make sure I stay over an extra night to be sure to drive home sober!

You should come down in September for the bourbon festival. It's a good time even if you don't like bourbon.......a great one if you do!

Thought I'd bump this thread after sampling the Hudson Single-Malt. It seems a little drier than the Baby Bourbon but has a deep, mellow after that's unlike anything I have ever tasted and makes Woodford taste very slick by comparison. I liked all the various flavors you get with consecutive sips as well. Tuthilltown makes a few fantastic varieties of whiskey that I intend to get a handle on this year, once I can figure out how to find them... their Single-Malt's not easy to find but this one's a winner.

Their website is worth wasting time on
