Some extra zeros are probably necessary. A tuition of sorts, paid to learn a practical (and now enjoyable) skill.
Ive wasted a lot more money on lesser things.

Money spent on razor - zero dollars (a gift from uncle-in-law)
Money spent on soap, mug, and brush - zero dollars (gifts from micah1_8 so that he could get me hooked on wet-shaving)
Money spent on after shaves - zero dollars (hand-me downs from the old man)
Hours spent enjoying the DE lifestyle - priceless.

Sorry for using that tired advertisement slogan, but it was too fitting not to.

I initially signed up here thinking I'd save some money.

Along came Marty, talking of Futile Resistance, Assimilation and such. Hummmph.

I don't want to think about how much I've spent. It's really been an 'Imperative from the Collective' so to speak.

I really need to clean out my stuff and sell most of it off one of these days.

I voted before I'd really thought it through... I voted in the $51 to $100 category, but then I rememberd that I had also purchased a Rolls Razor, and an AoS starter kit, and an Anthony Logistics set...

I got into wet shaving for the same reason I shine my own shoes and smoke a pipe. I'm an old fashioned guy, and I feel like people these days are obsessed with instant gratification, to the point where they are willing to sacrifice the gratification part if they can get it instantly. So many things in life- shaving, shining your shoes, growing up- should be a process, a journey, not necessarily a goal to be reached. Some things are not meant to be done, they are meant to be attempted, then practiced then perfected.

That is why I started wet shaving.

Well over 200 I'm sure. AOS brush alone was $119 including tax. Not going to bother to start counting either.

I think I'm only around the $300 mark, but I've resisted the urge to tally it all up. Some things I'm better off not knowing . . . :001_rolle

I've got around $100 in razors (three, with cases) and about the same each in mugs and soaps/creams.

Oh, wait . . . aftershaves. Well, only about $50 or so in those. I like the drugstore ones.
