How long does it take you to shave?

I'm intrigued after a comment from my OH along the lines of "It takes you forever to shave now!"

This morning, I got up for work at 0515. I showered, shaved, cleaned up after myself, and was dressed, ready to leave at 0555. 40 minutes exactly.

The days where I don't need to shave I get up at 0530 and I'm ready around the same time - so by deduction, the whole shaving process, from getting everything out to being cleaned up and tidy again takes me 15 minutes.

Yes, that's longer than it used to take with either an electric or a MachProTurboFusion, but it doesn't seem excessive... Does it? I'm probably asking the wrong crowd though, right? So, I've been DE shaving for about 6 months now. I feel like I've got the hang of it, and it's not really going to get any quicker.

How long does everyone else take?

I shave at night, so that I can take my time.. 20 - 30 minutes, but for a quick wtg and xtg , I think 10 mins would do it.

Yup ten to fifteen for me too. I only do two passes with an Old or New these days but I invariably get bothered by rugrats so it's all a bit variable.

12 minutes is my average for 3 passes. This include building lather (prep is done already while I'm in the shower so shower time is excluded), 3 pass shave, aftershave, clean-up my mess, out the bathroom door.

I'd say about 20 minutes for me since I started face lathering. Took me longer while bowl lathering.

Probably around 15 minutes. I've never timed it, but I'm retired and I don't really give a . . . darn.

It depends on the situation. If I shower shave before work, about 5-8 min. If on the weekend am not rushed anywhere from 10 - 30 minutes.

I like to shave at night so that I can take my time and enjoy. Usually 20-30 min. If in a rush I can do 3 passes in under 10 min. Luckily I'm only rushed 3-4 times a year.

Wow, I feel like a slowpoke. It is taking me roughly 30 - 35 minutes - including the shower and cleanup.

I never timed it, but I guess 10 to 15 minutes as well. Probably closer to 15 minutes.

It takes me 15-20 minutes to do a 2 pass shave with touch ups.

These times are a guess but won't be far off. They don't include shower time.

2 minutes prep (put brush in bowl of hot water, apply oil, fit blade if needed, choose cream/soap)
2 minutes face lathering
3 minutes per pass and relather
2 minutes for alum, clean up and rinse

12-15 minutes for me depending on whether I have 2 or 3 passes.

Including shower and cleanup, shaving my face only...three pass (WTG/XTG with straight, ATG with DE)...15min. 20 if I'm slow stropping. I've timed it previously when I've only had a certain amount of time before a TV show I want to watch starts. I never rush though, I don't want to cut myself.

Including shower and cleanup, shaving my face and head...same three pass on face, one ATG with clean-up on head...35 min. At least that's how long it took me last night and I didn't do anything different from normal.

I can do it in 10 minutes when I need to, but rushing is not why I do this. Including cleaning the brush/razor, putting stuff away, normally 15 minutes. Like the OP, from turning on the shower, coffee mug in hand, to walking out the door is about 45 minutes. Shower is my shave prep, nothing else needed.

It usually takes me 10 to 15 mins for a 3 pass with touch ups on weekday mornings. I'll take more time on the weekends.

If I'm using a DE about 15 minutes. If I'm using my injector I can usually get done in just under 10.
