How Far To Turn A TTO?

I just bought a Fatboy on Ebay. I have many other TTOs, and I am wondering, is it possible to turn the TTO too tight? Is there any danger of stripping out the turning mechanism, or is there a stop? I don't won't to ruin this or any of my razors. Thanks.

no. you close it untill its tight, and then a tiny bit more. youre not at risk of breaking it unless you use a vice or something

What he said. I mean, don't strain yourself tighetning it down, but it should have a pretty well defined stopping point.

Hand-tight is just fine. You will know when to stop. Unlike cheaply-made, more complex and expensive razors, you are unlikely to break it.

The "turn to lock" will be somewhere between 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn. The stop is very defined, but if it is really tight or doesn't want to turn for some reason it may be that the internal mechanism is crudded up.

You should not attempt to go past the stop, for obvious reasons.
