Honorary and Obligatory First Shave Post

Well I did it!
Got my Karnak in the mail today from Leighton, and dove right in.

Upper lip and chin (and left-handed shaving) are quite tricky, but I can proudly say I got no worse a shave than I have been getting with my M3. No nicks and cuts worth talking about either... I've been chewed up worse by a bic disposable.

My toughest overall thing was mentally making myself think about the angle.. I often times tried to come in way too steep and had to stop myself before I tried to shave.. That's going to come with time as I turn a task into a habit.

I was admittedly a little worried about putting so much money up front, but after shaving I really enjoy it. Not to mention the +10 to manliness.

I just went WG of course.. need to give myself some time before I step up to the next level.

Just be careful of shave three - its the one where you get cocky and say "I can do this, this is easy!" and then slip and cut yourself

yeah that's what I was thinking... I can't ever really get cocky and not respect the razor

Who among us can honestly say they haven't had the "I got this" shave? Oddly, I do believe mine came on about my third shave with the Gem Micromatic. I was coming off a DFS on shave #1, and (what was then classified as a BBS on shave #2. Third shave I got a bit cocky and yes, indeed the old Micromatic quickly let me know the error of my ways

thanks for the advice I have plenty to learn still, but It's exciting to know I've done it at last.
