I'm pretty certain my Dovo isn't shave ready (didn't order it from Vintage Blades either). I'm in Afghanistan at the moment. is there a reliable place I can mail my blade to get it honed, or doesn anyone know a place near Fayetteville, NC where I can find a honemeister?

Not near NC, but there's this shop in IL. He did a good job.
It was done for me when having a restore done.

Shoot. Afghanistan I don't know. But I have had a few very nice people in the states offer to hone my blades for me. Very nice folk here. I even had a small PayPal payment returned when I tried to compensate just a little for their time. Being active duty I'm sure someone will come along. Ill keep this up top till they do. Not sure what the shipping is from there but if you let me know if someone comes along I will PayPal them the amount to ship it back. Good luck and thanks for all you do.
