Holy cats

The clincher was the shipping. Shipping for a stick of Tabac from Canada... $10... England... $14. Two razors from this site, airmailed... $5!

I've ordered from there a couple times, usually on products that are produced in Europe somewhere. It ends up being cheaper very often since they aren't paying import tax, as well as not charging us sales tax. It's sort of like getting things at the Duty Free stores. Providing the exchange rate isn't going stupid at the time, and they keep reasonable shipping, it's a great place for us in the US to get somethings at a pretty fair price.

Yeah, both them and Connaught Shaving traditionally have had Muhle razors cheaper than US vendors. I remember reading that they don't have to pay duty tax or some sort of excise tax (maybe because they are all EU participants?) whereas US vendors do, hence a major reason for the difference in prices.

There is no VAT (value added tax) and maybe no tax for them to import too. But $5 shipping!!!! It seems everything I've looked at from overseas has been twice that. I don't know how, I'll just quietly say... yippeee!

I have the R41 Grande (2011) and it is truly fantastic. It is definitely worth the increase in price, though of course this is YMMV. I really like the increased length, weight, balance. It is a real beast, and to be respected for sure!

They arrived yesterday! Yippee. First shave, with the rose gold 2011 head, took two plus touch up. Hmmm, so does my SS. Three with a buff with my DE89. I shaved yesterday at 3pm. This morning still pretty smooth. Ya, that's better!
Shaving with it is about as close as you can get to shaving with a bare blade I'd say. Still no cuts, no weepers, no razor burn just a close shave with a beautiful razor.
