Henckels 7 Day Set

I have searched the site for any info and found none. I was at an antique store today and saw a Henckels 7 day set, the days spelled out on the thick edge of the blades (the spine?). The scales were cream colored (don't know what material). They were in a box with a slot for each razor. The blades were incredibly shiny and all seemed to be in perfect condition except that one had two little chips on the cutting edge.

The strange things are the following: there were no "twins" on the tang; I am pretty sure the tang was engraved "American Specialty Co" near or under the "Henckels"; on the reverse side of the tang it was engraved "5th Ave Hotel NY".

Anybody have any information? I am guessing I will be told to return to the store and get pictures, but I won't be able to for a few weeks.

Thank you!

What store? How much? What are their hours? :001_tt2:

I've seen a few henckels without the twins. My guess is it means they're relatively old. I have a henckels 7 day set (missing 2 days) but it's black handled and has the twins.

That said, if the Monday and Friday aren't chipped I'd be happy to buy them off you.

Congratulations!! Looks like you score BIG n this one . Do share pictures. There are Henckels without twin logos on them.

Also, when you say small chips. How small is small? Some of these will easily be repaired during a bevel reset (by a pro).

i have not been back to the shop (yet) to take pictures, but they wanted $395 for the set - that seems like a lot to me. i will go back though and get pics and confirm the info on the tangs.

$56 for a nice razor is not too much, but mayber they will come down a little.

For that price I'd expect the kit to be 100% mint (unless scales are ivory or blades have filework on spine or something else that raises price above most 7 day sets). An unexceptional Henckels 7 day in near Mint except one razor having chips? I'd offer them $250 for the kit, tops.

For reference... my "7 day" Henckels set (missing 2 razors, 4 razors NOS, 1 razor mint except slight hone wear) cost me in the area of $150-175 if I recall.
