Help me pick a watch band

Well this arrived today and was dropped off to have links taken out. I should pick it up next week but in the meantime have a hankering for a different band. This is the Russian watch (Vostok) that I ordered several weeks ago, it took that long. I half expected a guy driving a mule pulling a two wheel cart to pull up with it. Jeepers, it took a long time. Anyway, I have an Orient with a similar band as this Vostok comes with. So I thought I would tap the knowledge base here and see what you guys think would be a good match for the watch face.

If there are any suggestions as to where to find any proposed bands that would be much appreciated.

Edited to add, the metal band that comes with the watch is "tinny" and really not the best. Thus the switcheroo coming up.

You may find it fun to try a NATO or Zulu strap. Like the name says, CheapestNATOstraps has some of the cheapest bands if you want to experiment with different colors. They work fine but are not the best quality, not as good as the Maratac mentioned previously, but something to experiment with until you decide what you really want as a long term solution.

I myself have always been a fan of Leather straps, but on a watch with a screw down crown I suppose that is not the most practical option.

Can't go wrong with a nice NATO strap.

Well, I got it back - here it is up close and personal. I am really liking the idea of the NATO strap. Symbolically, think about pairing a Russian watch with a NATO band. The band is there to keep the watch "in place." Heh, heh...

Edited to add - just ordered a black and gray NATO from Crown and Buckle. Thanks so much for giving me some direction on where to start, it saved a good deal of time.

Got it from Crown & Buckle, fast shipping and good site. Here they are married together - these NATO straps are very comfy.

I think that these Vostoks look good on nylon straps and they are reasonably priced so you can have a selection. They are also waterproof. Keep the steel as a back up.
