Hi folks, I picked up this Leresche from auction recently but unfortunately was not given much information about what model it is (#51, #77, etc), so I'm hoping someone here in the know about these razors can identify it for me and tell me a little about it and how it shaves. Thanks in advance!

Looks you got the metal case, that would be the model 63 then. It is not in my 1948, 1950, 1951 brochures, however @Cha-wing!! shows one on his website Les Rasoirs de Sureté Leresche à Vis Courte - https://ossbrocante.wixsite.com/lereschearchive/rasoirs-leresche-vis-courte

Very nice! I love Leresche razors and every one I have tried has been well made and a great performer. Very under rated in my opinion. Yours is in lovely condition. 
I think the numbers refer to the set, rather than the razor model.

The made several models, fat or thin handle, long or short screw, the weirdness that is the 77, ... The website I linked to shows quite a collection. Indeed are they numbered as a set, which is something seen more often: the combination razor-case-extras=model.
Just to add to the confusion, Leresche made razors for other marketers, most notably Kirby Beard. Check out the Leresche archive that is linked previously, it's a wealth of information.
