I received a soap sample in a recent purchase of the BST. It came wrapped in celophane, is thin and round and on the front it says, "Shaving Soap Sample" and on the top it says, "Saint Charles Shave, LLC" and "Saint Charles, Missouri"
I threw this little round puck in my large mug today for the fun of it. Used my Penworks badger brush on it. Proceeded to load the brush and noticed immediately that it started to produce a very creamy lather. Of course it was too dry, so I dipped my brush in some water and began to face lather. This stuff seems to be amazing!
First off, I noticed an strong scent of what seems to be cinnamon or pine or something. Anyone know what scent this could be? At first I thought it was causing a bit of burn on my skin....but the shave was going very well so I kept using it. I had a multiple pass shave with very minimal irritation. The scent grew on me. In fact I kind of like it.
Bottom line, excellent lather which helped me achieve a great shave. I'd just like to know what this stuff is and if anyone else has used it.
Here is a picture of it:
